I see a bunch of great supercars around my hometown of Naples, Fla., (Ferraris, Maseratis, Porsches, McLarens and Aston Martins). I also see a bunch of “muscle cars” including GM efforts with Camaros, Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles as well as the great Dodge efforts of the 1960s, including many with incredible hemi engines that became a drag strip legend. However, here’s a back-side view of what I evaluate as a Datsun 260Z that I saw at a red light today (Saturday, July 29, 2023). Of course, Datsun was owned by Nissan, but the brand was phased out in the U.S. In Japan, the 240Z, the 260Z and the 280Z were known there as the “Fairlady.” What a wonderful automotive historic surprise on a Saturday morning here in Naples!
