Today’s “must” movie is “Target” with Gene Hackman and Matt Dillon. “Target” is the story of a former CIA agent whose wife has been kidnapped while traveling in Europe. The kidnapping exposes Hackman’s past to Dillon, who believes his father is a total jerk, incompetent and stupid and then sees him in action.
Of course, Hackman is the consummate former CIA operative and the story leads him and Dillon on a convoluted trail across Europe to confront an old adversary who believes Hackman killed a family member and orchestrated the kidnapping as revenge. Of course, the plot has a bunch of twist right to the end … and that’s the beauty of “Target.”
“Target” is a true winner in the espionage film library and I grade it out as “you should watch it immediately.”
I’m not sure how difficult it will be to find “Target,” but you should make it a priority. You won’t be disappointed. I guarantee it!
