Here’s a very strange morning wake-up call: A “free-range” rooster crowing after a breakfast from a discarded fast-food baggie in a parking lot! I was cutting through a parking lot in North Naples, Fla., this morning (Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023) as I chased a photo of the sunrise, when I spied this rooster pecking away at a bag on the parking lot. Since there isn’t a farm for more than 10 miles in any direction, I knew the rooster was lost and was living off scraps. However, it didn’t dilute it from crowing or coming over to my vehicle to see if it could get a handout.
