Here’s one of the best presentations of the back of a vehicle that I’ve ever seen! Not only are the silhouettes of the B-1 Lancer bomber and the Boeing B-52 bomber really memorable, but when the license plate notes “BUFF B1” … then that makes it all the better! The B-52 Stratofortress, the venerable and world’s best-remembered bomber (even over Boeing’s B-17 “Flying Fortress” and Consolidated’s B-24 Liberator from World War II) is known as the “Buff.” Of course, the B-1 represents what came with the technological future with its stealth technology brought out in the 1980s and is one of the most wonderful aerial combat machines ever constructed. I got this shot on May 12, 2024, as I returned home from an errand here in Naples, Fla. (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
