Yesterday, Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, was national Dash Cam Day! Although I’m following Associated Press writing style by spelling it “dashcam,” it was an annual reminder that the small piece of technology can help you. I didn’t have my portable dashcam in my vehicle a couple of years ago and was hit from behind by another driver. Since no ticket was issued, my insurance company, which covered both vehicles, just said nothing could be proven and my policy got charged for the $9,500 in damages while his paid to buff out the scratch on his big tire on his pickup truck. Lying scumbag. If I had had my dashcam, it would have proven him wrong. So, I have the dashcam in every day now. I got this shot today, Aug. 6, 2024, as I drove on an errand near our home here in Naples, Fla.
