With a pair of hurricane threats to Southwest Florida in recent weeks, we’ve gotten a nice workout with our emergency equipment. What I’d like to do today (Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024) is to tell everyone about what probably will turn out to be the most useful item in your emergency supplies: a small flashlight! Yes, there’s the water, the generator, extension cords, etc., but for pure all-time use (especially after the sun sets and your power is still off), this handy little flashlight makes life easier! It’s easy to carry, has a dazzling bright light and takes AAA batteries. You can buy blister packs of them at most big retailers. Check it out. I got this shot of one of our mini-flashlights on Oct. 18, 2024, at our home here in Naples, Fla.
