Each Halloween a community decorates so much for the event that the Collier County Sheriff’s Office has to put up sawhorses (plastic, not wood) to manage parking – so many folks decide to walk through the community for trick-or-treating because the traffic is snarled throughout the neighborhood. Here are the sawhorses put up today near the front of the community and they are used to restrict parking in the median (it’s a danger on the highway for folks to park and then cross the two-lane road in the dark). The community is also famous for its luminaria, but that is more a Christmas tradition than Halloween. I got this shot near our home here in Naples, Fla., while running an errand today (Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024).
