Hey everybody, it’s movie time! I’m re-writing the words from the start of a Styx hit song and saying today is “movie time!” For movie time tonight, let’s watch “Bachelor Party” with Tom Hanks. Yes, Mr. Hanks … you know, Mr. Multiple Oscars and nominations and just about Mr. Everything in American cinema. He’s in “Bachelor Party” with its gross-out, very R-rated puerile comedy that will leave you on the floor.
“Bachelor Party” is just as the title suggests: Hanks is getting married and his whacko friends (he’s a bit sideways, too, because he likes having fun) certainly have quite the party in mind for him – but they don’t really comprehend just how far the party will go (such as with “Max” the sexual mule and more drugs than even a “Harold & Kumar” film or “Office Christmas Party” with cocaine being shot out of a cannon could ever imagine).
Of course, in “Bachelor Party,” Hanks won’t cheat on is fiancée, who is played by the late Tawny Kaiten, who, in real life, reportedly dated O.J. Simpson and was accused of spousal abuse of her husband of the time (a MLB player). Still, he’s a disappointment to her parents, but not to the audience (and her father ends tied up in bed with a bevy of hookers).
Aside from his Oscar-winning and Oscar-nominated roles, Hanks was also a guest star on that most delightful kitschy TV series “The Love Boat,” where he played the college roommate of ship’s purser.
“Gopher.”
Thanks, Tom. Your efforts in comedy such as “Bachelor Party” and kitschy tee-vee are much appreciated!
You’ll have no problem finding “Bachelor Party” and you’ll have a vast amount of fun watching … I guarantee it!
