Hey everybody, it’s movie time! I’m re-writing the words from the start of a Styx hit song and saying today is “movie time!” For movie time tonight, let’s watch “Jurassic Park III.” Here’s a sequel (actually, a second sequel) that’s the equal to the original … and you don’t find that very often from the greedy gods of Hollyweird that will “reboot” anything in any way for a dollar.
You get a top-notch cast in “Jurassic Park III” with Sam Neill reprising his role as the iconic “Alan Grant,” who is the dinosaur expert who winds up on the menu for many dinosaurs, but always manages to escape the dinner table. You also get the always-marvelous William H. Macy and the terrific Téa Leoni as a couple who is divorced but forced back together to find their son.
The story of “Jurassic Park III” is that Leoni’s boyfriend and son find themselves stranded on one of two islands that were used as incubators for a genetic project that revived dinosaurs on Earth. Leoni and Macy then team back up and trick Neill into going back into what again becomes for him … dinosaur hell!
Just like the original, “Jurassic Park III” offers a layered story through a solid screenplay backed up by even better acting. The action and special effects are simply wonderful, too. You won’t have any trouble finding “Jurassic Park III” and you’ll also have no trouble enjoying the film … I guarantee it!
