Hey everybody, it’s movie time! I’m re-writing the words from the start of a Styx hit song and saying today is “movie time!” For movie time tonight, let’s watch “Jurassic World” as an example of a worthy sequel. The entire “Jurassic” franchise is basically uneven, what with the first sequel awful and the final two simply terrible … but the original, the second sequel and “Jurassic World” just outstanding!
In “Jurassic World,” the island(s) of dinosaurs has been brought back to life (pun intended) and has been turned into the theme park that the original creator envisioned. Of course, all’s not well and its newest, meanest dinosaur is about to go on a rampage. Enter raptors, a prehistoric fish that eats white sharks and a couple of kids and you got a movie.
The quality is throughout the “Jurassic World” and you get Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the lead roles with the ever-wonderful Vincent D’Onofrio as the bad guy with bad intentions on why the raptors were being “trained” to obey orders – well, they obey Pratt, but no one else.
The heart of the story of “Jurassic World,” like in the original, is a couple of youngsters come to visit a family member. This time, it’s a niece and nephew of the park’s manager (Howard) and they get caught up in being chased by dinosaurs while Howard and Pratt try to rescue them.
So, you’ll without a doubt enjoy “Jurassic World” … I guarantee it!
