Our Honda vehicles get solid mileage and are quality rides for the long haul, but the computation of each vehicle’s range is confusing. I filled up a family member’s vehicle this morning (Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025) here in Naples, Fla. It was low on fuel as you can see there were just 12 miles left of range, according to the dashboard readout. Once I filled up on gas, it showed a new range of 404 miles. However, do the math: 13 gallons at 27.4 miles-per-gallon is 356 miles. Hmmmm … I previously showed how driving a few minutes “added” miles to the range on our other Honda vehicle and now here’s the faulty math mileage for range. Click here to see the other example of the vehicle’s range being off … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
