Today, Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, is national Retro Day! I can’t think of anything more “retro” than a fountain pen. And, in my mind, there’s Montblanc and then there are all the other fountain pens in the world. Most of the Montblanc models are titled part of the Meisterstück collection. Here is a look at all my MontBlanc fountain pens. From the left: the small Mozart and a 1950s Montblanc model; center left: the first-edition model Starwalker; the next two are Meisterstück model 142 fountain pens (one has cap standing and the other has cap on bottom of pen body; this is the classic model and sometimes designated LeGrand); and the final one on the far right is the Meisterstück LeGrand Traveler model … instead of a piston well where you load ink, it has a cartridge. Finally, the case on which some of the pens rest is the leather case for the Traveler pen.
