I’m a bit late in posting this photo of a U.S. flag flying at half-staff in Naples, Fla., for Peace Officers Memorial Day. The day commemorating local, state, and federal peace officers who have died or been disabled in the line of duty falls each year on May 15 during Police Week and 2025 was no exception. I got this shot of a flag at a community in North Naples yesterday (Thursday, May 15, 2025) while running an errand near our home. According to the internet: “Peace Officers Memorial Day (began) in 1963, several months after President John F. Kennedy signed the bill into law in October 1962.” (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
