The first Friday of Lent for 2026 is today, Feb. 20. A national “day” is noted as Friday Fish Fry at the beginning of Lent. Having fish on a Friday is most common in the Catholic faith as well as for some orthodox congregations and a “fish fry” on Fridays is a major event weekly across the Midwest. However, the Friday Fish Fry “holiday” brings to mind us having seafood during some of our visits to Walt Disney World over the years. Here’s a shot I took on June 2, 2018, of fish (and a ray) during a dinner at the Coral Reef restaurant at EPCOT. Click here for all our photos from our visits to the Coral Reef restaurant … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
