Traffic at a major artery in north Naples, Fla., was briefly shut down today (Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026) as the funeral procession for Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Diego made its way to the First Church of Naples for a noontime service. The procession included a phalanx of motorcycle officers, Collier County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and more than a dozen FHP patrol units. I wasn’t in much of a position to get even a reasonable image, but you see the best I could do from far back at the intersection. Click here for the story about Trooper Diego’s death … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
