Welcome back to my blog. Here’s my recommendation of a movie to check out today and hope you punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” OK, today I’m headed back to the land of the horrible film with “Up the Creek,” which is a raunchy comedy that has few laughs, a few actors from more successful raunchy comedies and no more than a few reasons why you should watch this stinker.

“Up the Creek” simply reeks from the opening credits right through you tossing away a barf-bag as you watch it disappear on your 4K tee-vee. You won’t find any redeeming qualities in “Up the Creek” and the only lessons taught are how not to make any kind of film, especially one designed as comedy.
In short, “Up the Creek” is about a bunch of lovable losers at a loser of a college who participate in a river race. I know there are other details, but you merely need to conjure up stereotypes to know the plot:
-

A promotional still photograph from the movie “Up the Creek.” The leader (Tim Matheson of “Animal House” fame)
- The Belushi-like character (Stephen Furst, also of “Animal House” fame)
- The schlub (Sandy Helberg, whose son would go on to much bigger fame on tee-vee’s “The Big Bang Theory”)
- The excitable boy (Dan Monahan, who was “Pee-Wee” in the “Porky’s” franchise)
You’ll find others in “Up the Creek,” but you’ll forget them just as quickly as you’ll forget the so-called stars’ efforts.
Wow. Just overall … well, crapola.

However, after all that commentary, you should check it out because of just how bad you can find a movie (I won’t use the term “film” or “motion picture”). Sometimes stinkers can be enjoyable.
So, I say punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” and watch “Up the Creek.” It is available on a limited number of streaming services and available for rent on many others. Find it! Watch it! Don’t worry, you might thank me later for “Up the Creek” (but I doubt it)!
