Each April 19, card players rejoice because it is national Poker Day. Of course, Poker is a popular card game of gambling and the arguably most popular poker game is called “Texas hold ’em.” Poker became hot in the early late 1990s and into the 2000s (especially “Texas hold ’em,” which is the most-watched game at the legendary World Series of Poker) and, while it’s star is less bright today, tournaments are still broadcast on streaming services. Back-in-the-day, I was part of weekly poker games with friends, but, just as the tee-vee version cooled off, so did our group. I staged this group of the best hand in poker – the royal flush – from each suit of cards at our home here in Naples, Fla., on April 18, 2026.
