Each April 23 is World Book and Copyright Day and the designation is intended to remind everyone on our planet that books are not just important as entertainment or enlightenment, but a key, too, to expanding our intelligence. It is also a reminder that books and their “content” are property of the writer or publisher. So, today I’m showing our family room bookcase at our home here in Naples, Fla. It has books and other mementos, including the display box of my collection of Montblanc pens (as pens used to be critical to writing). BTW: World Book Day was designated in 1995; the United Kingdom and Ireland celebrates their own World Book Day each March; and I took the photo on April 23, 2026 … please note I blurred the family photos for our privacy.
