Here’s an item that is becoming quite a rare sight today: A decorative checkbook holder! We just had some work done at our home today (Monday, May 4, 2026) and I paid via a check. Well, when I saw the checkbook holder on my desk, I realized it was the first time I had used it in quite some time. I’ve had this checkbook holder for more than two decades and it has the iconic University of Florida “Gator Head” logo, which was launched in 1994. Of course, I’ve used it much less frequently over the years and the future holds a check-less time when everything will be electronic deposit, digital or instant scan of some technology we’ve not yet encountered. I got this shot today in Naples, Fla. (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
