Each June 10 is national Ballpoint Pen Day and since today is Wednesday, June 10, 2026, that means I give some attention to a ballpoint pen. Except, I don’t have one. I have a modest collection of 10 Montblanc fountain pens and rollerball pens as well as these Pilot G-2 gel ink pens (with royal blue ink only, as is one of the colors of my beloved University of Florida Gators). However, no ballpoints – not even the ubiquitous and classic Bic Cristal. In the spirit of Ballpoint Pen Day, I’ll celebrate all writing instruments because they are all related to communication! It took this photograph of my Pilot G-2 pens today at our home here in Naples, Fla. (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
