Here is my next-to-last in my series of photos of the interesting agave americana that has been doing its once-in-a-lifetime bloom on the edge of our backyard neighbor’s property here in Naples, Fla. It is also known as the Century Plant and I took this latest photo on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Sadly, the towering flower spike has broken before its blooms emerged to their fullest extent. The flower stalk was approximately 25 feet tall and one emerges only with 10 years to 25 years of plant growth. My final photo will be once the complete plant dies, as such plants do at the end of the life of the plant’s single flower stalk. I’ve posted a close-up shot to show the break and I’m reprising other photos, too.
