I cannot say for sure that this 1933 or 1934 Ford Model 40 Phaeton was headed to the Mercato shopping complex this morning (Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026), but the Mercato was hosting the season’s first “Cars and Coffee 239” today. The events run each third Sunday from today through Dec. 20 and feature a variety of vintage and other vehicles, with today’s theme being “Electric Vehicles.” Well, electricity was a new(er) technology when this vehicle made its appearance, but it was on display on area highways today! I took this photo as I was on an errand from our home here in Naples, Fla. The Mercato is in the 239 area code.
