Every Aug. 16 is national Roller Coaster Day and today is Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026! Our family has enjoyed roller coasters for decades at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens (Tampa) and several other sites. Here’s just one of several photos of the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster at Toy Story Land that I took on Sept. 7, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. BTW from an online source: “National Roller Coaster Day was proclaimed in 1986 by a national newspaper to acknowledge the August 16, 1898 patent by Edward Prescott for the first looping roller coaster.” Click here to see all my photos of roller coasters … and you can … click here for all my photos of Slinky Dog Dash …” (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
