Early voting has ended for the 2026 primary election that happens on Tuesday (Aug. 18) and so you won’t be seeing candidates’ supporters camped outside early-voting locations, such as these chairs represent from the Headquarters branch of the Collier County Public Library in North Naples. Supporters and campaign staff members spent hours as close as allowed to the voting precinct’s entrance to get their candidate’s name in front of voters. I photographed these chairs on Aug. 14 after leaving the library parking lot. I chose to photograph empty chairs in order not to highlight one candidate or another.
