Florida summers used to be highlighted by afternoon thunderstorms and torrential downpours that lasted a few minutes before the sun broke through again, but today (Friday, Oct. 16, 2026) continues a change in the pattern of weather brought on, by some experts, from the El Niño. When I left our home in Naples, Fla., today (top image), the sky was threatening; then, the downpour arrived (middle image showing spray from water backed-up onto the highway); and then the sun emerged with dark clouds in the background. The cam in my car captured each image. Click here to see all my photos about the weather … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
