Try this flick … “The Hot Rock.” Here’s a caper film starring Robert Redford in which criminals wind up with the career crime (instead of the other way around). A bunch of bad luck beguiles Redford and his crew as they try in “The Hot Rock” to steal a jewel. They steal it, but don’t; try to retrieve it from a police station (but can’t); break into a prison (successfully, but still no jewel); and finally into a bank’s safety deposit box area (bingo!). “The Hot Rock” isn’t a great caper flick, but you’ll like the work of Redford and George Segal.
