An even lower low for closed captioning … ‘shiv’ turns into sh$%

Just when you thought that closed captioning couldn’t reach an even lower low than my last post of one on my blog … you have this example. I was watching a movie I recorded on our DVR here in Naples, Fla., and it had a character threaten another by saying he has a “six-inch shiv. It can go right through your liver.” Instead of what was said by the actor, the moronic closed captioning system came up with this crap. Well, it came up with sh^&! As I’ve noted before, I can understand closed captioning having an error when transcribing live programming, but for movies and TV shows? Sad; terribly sad to see such rank stupidity. Ah well … the movie is “The Bank Shot” and stars George C. Scott (he’s the one making the threat in the photo).
