Watch it! A movie today? ‘Foul Play’ is a great comedy with an intricate plot

Watch It! Yesterday, I suggested the second of two comedies co-starring Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn with “Seems Like Old Times.” Today, I’m going with their first from two years earlier and it is much better: the crime comedy-drama “Foul Play.” The pair come together as Hawn unwittingly stumbles into the plot to kill the Pope when he comes to San Francisco. Chase is the cop who first investigates, then protects here. “Foul Play” is simply great from its wonderful comedy to its intricate plot (yes, you really need to pay attention to the non-comedy to fully enjoy this one). “Foul Play” stands up very well all these years later (was 1978 that long ago?) and is worth your time, even if you’ve seen it a bunch of times. So, as I noted before about a film … find it and … Watch It!
