U.S. flags have been ordered to half-staff (remember, it’s half-mast only on ships) in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II, who died Sept. 8, 2022. U.S. flags were initially ordered flown today (Sept. 11) at half-staff in honor of Patriot Day and in remembrance of the 9-11 tragedy of the terrorist attack on our country. However, the death of Queen Elizabeth added another component to the honor. I got this shot of the flags at half-staff at the Headquarters branch of the Collier County Public Library on Sept. 10, 2022.
