I got this photo of more than a dozen North Miami Police cars, all with the vehicles’ lights flashing, at the entrance to a North Naples, Fla., community today (Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022). An hour later, the fleet was gone … and I’m not sure if they deployed into the neighborhood to collar a fugitive or went elsewhere. I’m not sure why such a contingent of out-of-jurisdiction vehicles were staged here in the first place, since North Miami has absolutely no jurisdiction in Collier County. Ah well, if I still worked in the news media (as I did for 30 years until 2010), I’d check it out. I wouldn’t usually post a photo of a law enforcement operation in progress, but when they park more than a dozen units on a busy highway and each has its lights flashing, they cannot expect any privacy!
