Today’s “must” movie is “Dirty Work” with the late comedian Norm Macdonald. Here’s a movie review in which you don’t point up good work, but use it as an example of why such bad movies shouldn’t be released. “Dirty Work” brings you abysmal efforts from legendary comedians (Chevy Chase and Don Rickles); from excellent actors (Jack Warden); to incredible comedic actors (Chris Farley).
“Dirty Work” is absolutely one of the worst-ever films released because it is rotten through-and-through: From what is called “acting” to direction from the normally solid Bob Saget to its writing to even its production, “Dirty Work” is a total clown show of what someone believed would be a nice comedy.
In “Dirty Work,” you have Macdonald and his friend opening a business where folks pay them to pull pranks on other folks. The two friends are bumbling fools and cannot hold any job for very long, so the idea of “Dirty Work” appeals to them.
Unfortunately, the execution of the film is that it should have been executed by the producers rather than released upon the public. It is a permanent record of embarrassment for folks like Chase, who has been uneven in his career; to Warden, who was a two-time Oscar nominee (and not for this stinker); to even the late Chris Farley in an uncredited role in what would be his final film.
Ah, well. Some movies are gold, all too many are crap. “Dirty Work” makes even a crappy flick look good.
You shouldn’t even try to find “Dirty Work.” You shouldn’t punish yourself with this garbage. I guarantee it!
