Welcome back to my blog. Here’s my recommendation of a movie to check out today and hope you punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” OK, for today, I’m recommending another Goldie Hawn-Chevy Chase comedy with “Seems Like Old Times” with the legendary Neil Simon having penned the screenplay.

My previous recommendation was the first Hawn-Chase vehicle called “Foul Play” and it was great. “Seems Like Old Times” doesn’t live up to “Foul Play” in its entirety, but is a very funny film with some simply hilarious scenes (take the “chase” with police with neat quips from Chase and Hawn’s criminal client-turned driver).

In “Seems Like Old Times,” you get Chase being kidnapped and forced to help a couple of criminals rob a bank. Of course, at first, he’s believed to be the robber and turns to his ex-wife (Hawn) as she’s a liberal defense lawyer.

The complication? Hawn is married to the local prosecutor (played by Charles Grodin), who’s about to be appointed as California’s attorney general. Well, hilarity ensues in many ways including a slapstick dinner party with the governor and a courtroom overcome by a dog. For Hawn and Chase, the title says it all: “Seems Like Old Times.”

Chase, as usual, is his off-handed best with the insouciance that he delivers so easily. Hawn is her usual chaotic self (ditzy?) and Grodin does his usual good work from the pedantic side of the ledger.

So, I say punch your “Ticket to the Movies!” and find “Seems Like Old Times” on several streaming services. Find it! Watch it! Don’t worry, you’ll thank me later.
