I’m plugging away on working to finish my latest build of a model tank. You see parts of the project in this photo, from the partially completed turret to the incomplete upper body of the JS-3 heavy Russian tank from the end of the World War II era. I hope to complete the project within a week at our home here in Naples, Fla. The tank is named for dictator Josef Stalin and later renamed as the IS-3 for the spelling “Iosif Stalin.” The tank was designed in 1944 and variants have seen service by Communist countries and their allies across the globe for longer than seven decades. One was even used in service in the 2014 conflict between the Russians and Ukrainians!
