Unfortunately, I received an unintentional “gift” from our nearby Walmart store. I write “unfortunately” because I didn’t want it and Walmart said not to return it. The “it” is this 2.3-pound Angus Chuck pot roast worth $22.57 and I suppose they didn’t seek a return because they don’t accept perishable foodstuffs back. The “unfortunately” is that a staff member’s mistake cost the company something (and I hope the staff member doesn’t have to pay for his or her mistake). When I do a pick-up at Walmart, my order is placed in the trunk of my vehicle and I didn’t see the surprise pot roast until I unpacked at our home here in Naples, Fla., yesterday (Monday, Aug. 10, 2026). I guess I’ll have to personally check my order at the store’s parking lot in the future, instead of waiting to get home.
