We’ve started a new month with the change back to Standard Time (Eastern Standard Time here in Naples, Fla.) and so, while the time change is a different date each year, each Nov. 1 is national Author’s Day! It is a most wonderful celebration: The writers, who, for the most part, influenced your younger years. I’ve been a read-a-holic since my sophomore year of high school (I was such a nerd that I read 300 books over my junior year of high school … not including textbooks and books as assigned for school). The photo I’m using today is of one of my bookshelves at our home. BTW … online sources call the celebration “Author’s Day” as well as “Authors Day.” I’m choosing “Author’s Day” since most credible sources use the singular possessive rather than the plural. I took the photo on Sept. 4, 2024, as part of the annual Buy a Book Day. (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
