I’m always able to be amazed at how entertainment from movies to TV to music has such a reach into the future. While watching a 2005 episode of “Two and a Half Men” (season 3, episode 2), I caught this reference to the raunchy teen comedy “Porky’s” from 1982. The character “Alan,” played by Jon Cryer, makes the comment, “… we no longer live in a “Porky’s” movie.” So, “Porky’s” continued to make its mark with humor 23 years later on TV’s top-rated sitcom at the time and that humor rings true in syndication today … 42 years after the film’s premiere! Gotta love ya, “Porky’s!” I got this shot of the closed captioning while watching the episode at our home here in Naples, Fla., on Feb. 21, 2024.
