Our second and third visitors to our new camera-equipped bird feeder was a house finch (right side photo – Haemorhous mexicanus) and then a red-bellied woodpecker (left side photo – Melanerpes carolinus). Both visited yesterday (Saturday, May 30, 2026), which was the day we set up the new bird feeder. The “BirdBuddy” bird feeder is a lot of fun if you get many visitors to your backyard – if that’s where you set up your bird feeder. I used my iPhone’s screen capture to grab these two images. The camera has a motion sensor and sends an alert to my iPhone when a bird visits and it has a small solar panel to power the camera. The new bird feeder is, of course, on the off our patio, outside of our pool screen at our home here in Naples, Fla. You can click here to see all my photos of bird feeders … (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
